The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at �Թ�ͷ��911 is proud to announce the appointment of an accomplished leadership team to continue to guide its top ranked Environmental Law Program into the future. Haub Distinguished Professor of Environmental Law, Katrina Fischer Kuh, will serve as Faculty Director of the Environmental Law Program. Achinthi C. Vithanage, Professor of Law for Designated Service in Environmental Law and Associate Director of Environmental Law Programs, will assume the role of Executive Director of the Environmental Law Program. Additionally, Josh Galperin, Associate Professor of Law, will take on the role of Faculty Director of the Sustainable Business Law Hub.

For nearly 25 years, �Թ�ͷ��911's Elisabeth Haub School of Law has partnered with Yale University to create one of the most unique and impactful joint degree programs in the world.

�Թ�ͷ��911 was recently awarded $476,000 from the to support a three-year interdisciplinary initiative, Islands, Archipelagos, and Cultural Ecologies. The project will advance environmental justice and the environmental humanities at Pace, building on the university’s strengths in experiential learning and place-based education.

On November 6, Professor Justin Pidot of the University of Arizona delivered the annual Gilbert and Sarah Kerlin Lecture on Environmental Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at �Թ�ͷ��911, speaking on “Environmental Justice at the White House.”

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at �Թ�ͷ��911 proudly awarded the prestigious 2024 Elisabeth Haub Award for Environmental Law and Diplomacy to Singapore’s Ambassador for International Law, Rena Lee, and Kristina Maria Gjerde, Senior High Seas Advisor to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

LLM student Samuel Fonseca de Carvalho has emerged victorious in the SUAD YOUTH COP competition, a prestigious global mock negotiation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

On September 12, 2024, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at �Թ�ͷ��911 Environmental Law Program held the second annual private environmental governance, sustainability, and ESG legal scholarship workshop. The half-day lightning workshop included an impressive gathering of environmentally focused scholars who spent the day workshopping new scholarship. This year’s workshop was developed by Haub Law Professor Josh Galperin, who also moderated the event.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at �Թ�ͷ��911 had the honor of hosting Professor Amanda Kennedy for a series of lectures and presentations. Professor Kennedy is a Professor of Law at Queensland University of Technology in Australia and Deputy Head of School at the School of Law. Professor Kennedy’s research interests fall predominantly within the area of agri-environmental law, and include natural resources and land use law, environmental justice and energy governance.
