Biography

Dr. Jason Slyer is a family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in cardiac and chronic disease management. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared nurse practitioner, he is a leader and expert in evidence-based practice and translational research with scholarly interests in the area of shared decision-making in the promotion of person-centered care practices.

Dr. Slyer is also the assistant director of education of the Northeast Institute for Evidence Synthesis and Translation (NEST), a JBI Center of Excellence. He maintains active involvement with JBI as a member of the cardiovascular expert reference group and a senior associate editor for JBI Evidence Synthesis.

My journey at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ911, both as a double alumnus of the Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and as a faculty member for over 13 years, has been incredibly fulfilling. As the director of graduate practice programs, I have the privilege of shaping the next generation of nurse practitioners, fostering advanced clinical skills, leadership, and a commitment to excellence in evidence-based, equitable, person-centered, primary health care.
